Music Education:
Jr high and high school band, guitar, Nov 1959. Studied correspondence course (U.S. School of Music) Studied with Merrill Dilbeck ( Atlanta). I continue to study music to the present day.

Gig/Performance experience:
1960 - Began performing and writing songs.
1964 - Began recording career with Jox records, San Antonio, Texas.
1970 - Recorded Eric Quincy Tate, Atlantic - Cottilion Records (producers Jerry Wexler, Tom Dowd and Tony Joe White)
1970's - 2nd album Drinking Man's Friend - Capricorn Records (producer Paul Hornsby) Macon, GA. 3rd album - EQT - GRC, Atlanta.
1980 - Formed Whiteflat Music & Southern Style Records.
1982 - Released South By Southwest -EP.
1990 - Released Mr Blues & I've Got Georgia On My Mind (2 Originals)
2006 - Rhino Records (Warner Bros) re-released 1st Eric Quincy Tate album.
2007 - Released 2 new albums. Donnie McCormick and Friends and Eric Quincy Tate - 37 Emphasis Records, Atlanta.

Teaching Philosophy /Personal Statement:
I give 100% to every student, I customize my teaching to shape each students needs and goals. I am experienced in blues, rock n roll, rhythm & blues, country and standards. I teach in standard, open E and open G tunings. Duanne Allman put the slide on my finger! I encourage creativity and songwriting.
